Terry Ilous is back with his Vagabonds to perform his Flamenco styled rock classics. This former lead singer for Great White and founder of classic rock band XYZ wowed us at the Great White Unplugged concert last year and is back with his incredible band, The Vagabonds, and an even wider range of music.
Singer, solo artist, and founding member of band XYZ, Terry Ilous, was born the son of a French mother and a Spanish father in France. His father, who played guitar, imbued Terry with the love of music that he nurtures to this day. Terry settled in Los Angeles in 1985 with Pat Fontaine and soon their band XYZ was promptly signed by Enigma / Capitol Records. XYZ toured the world in the late 1980’s / early 1990’s, and sold over 2 Million albums worldwide.
Terry has worked with such diverse artists / bands as Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Peter Gabriel, Sting, Whitesnake, Stevie Wonder, AC/DC, Mariah Carey, Guns and Roses, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, and many others.
Terry has appeared on NBC’s Passions, television commercials, and is active participant in the Voice-Over ADR field e.g. Columbia Pictures “Stuart Little 2”, and Paramount’s “Rugrats in Paris”., XBOX, Sega. He has also sung jingles for for an impressive list of companies such as Levis, Wrigley, Asahi, Toyota, WWE, Dr. Pepper, eBay, Intel, Taco Bell and many more.
Terry is also a renowned songwriter. He has written, and published over 300 songs for other artists; including Great White [band], for film and TV.
In 2009 Terry was asked to fill in as lead singer for the 80’s band Great White. By 2011 Ilous became the official lead singer for the band . In 2012 Great White released the CD “Elation” that produced the hit single ” Hard To Say Goodbye” by Ilous, which reached #8 on the Classic Rock Charts. Followed by the Live album “30 Years : Live on the Sunset Strip”. And the band released their 13th studio album ‘Full Circle’, by renowned producer Michael Wagener, with songs written by Great White, Terry Ilous & JK Northrup in June 2017.
In May of 2017 Terry released his own album, ‘Gypsy Dreams’, a retelling of classic rock favorites with a Latin / Flamenco feel. “Gypsy Dreams” includes an amazing assortment of some of the best L.A. based Latin & Flamenco musicians; was mastered by Latin Grammy winner Andres Mayo, and mixed by renowned engineer / composer, Tony Phillips.
